Sarga Barefoot Myofascial Bodywork
Deep, slow, spacious bodywork from the ground up...
Service Description
A slow, deep and deeply grounding style of bodywork, Sarga blends the ancient art of barefoot massage with a modern understanding of fascia and connective tissue. Using my bare feet alongside a supportive silk strap attached to the massage table, I work with slow, sustained and directional pressure through the body. The broad surface of the foot allows me to create depth without the more pointed feeling that can sometimes come from an elbow or thumb, creating long, sweeping movements that can feel spacious, stretching and incredibly satisfying. Rather than thinking about the body as a collection of individual muscles, Sarga works with the interconnected web of fascia that runs throughout us. The intention is less about forcing the body to change and more about creating the time, pressure and space for the tissues to respond. **Who is Sarga for?** Sarga can be particularly lovely if you: • enjoy deeper pressure but still want your treatment to feel slow and relaxing • experience a sense of tightness, restriction or stiffness in your body • love the feeling of stretching, lengthening and creating space • are active and want a treatment that feels both restorative and substantial • already enjoy deep tissue or myofascial bodywork and would like to experience something different • simply feel curious about experiencing bodywork through the broad, grounding contact of the feet Sarga draws inspiration from traditional barefoot massage practices alongside contemporary myofascial bodywork. Created by Jivatma Massaguer and Daniel Tsukayama in Hawaiʻi, the modality honours the barefoot traditions that came before it whilst offering its own distinctive approach through the use of the Sarga silk, gravitational and tensional force, and directionally oriented myofascial techniques. Expect a treatment that feels deep yet unhurried, strong yet spacious, and deeply grounding. Where to find us...
